Crystal Pite is creating with the dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater 1. Her new ballet is called 'Solo Echo'. Pite: ' Solo Echo presents an Everyman character reckoning with himself at the end of his life. The character is repeated -- copied, reiterated, by seven different dancers. He is portrayed through both male and female bodies, and through various physiques and strengths. Each performer is a distinct and nuanced version of the character, and the connections between them evoke a man coming to terms with himself'.
This ballet will premiere 9 February 2012 in Lucent Danstheater, The Hague, The Netherlands. It is part of a triple bill in the program 'Traces' which also presents Marco Goecke's worldpremiere of Garbo Laughs and Double You by Jiri Kylian. Touring in The Netherlands until 18 March.
