Renowned character actor David Selby has a gift for villainy. The West Virginia native rose to fame in the role of Quentin Collins, a werewolf, on the cult TV classic Dark Shadows, and went on to star as the dastardly but oddly sympathetic Richard Channing on the hit series Falcon Crest. These days, he divides his time between stage work, radio drama, and appearances on such acclaimed series as Mad Men and Tell Me You Love Me. In this episode, one of TV's best bad guys explains the attraction of the dark side.

  • Hi still handsome wow we like David Selby

  • He still handsome we like you David Selby !

  • He seems so geniune here lol. And I vaguely remember him from dark shadows, but I always think of White Squall lol. I know he was acting in that, but I always think what a snide guy haa, he seems nice.

  • David and I played major roles in plays together at West Virginia University. What a genuine, terrific guy. He was a good friend then and highly respected at WVU. I was proud to be part of an acting group that included Chris Sarandon, Joe Goodwin, Kay Huffman (Goodwin,) Dana Cobb, Pat Full and others. Great drama department, great individuals, great time. Oh, and I tried out for that Ensign Pulver role David got. Damn! Huge disappointment for me. He was terrific, however.

  • A beautiful, gentle man. The photographs of him as a child are so precious. I love his stories about listening to those Old Time radio programs because I can remember both my mother and father speaking of some of the very same ones. I enjoy hearing people tell stories about their early days. Thank you for giving us an opportunity to hear this charismatic, and engaging actor speak of his past.

  • Wow, still handsome.

  • As a radio buff, did he used to watch a lot of movies that starred Jane Wyman, before co-starring alongside Jane herself, on "Falcon Crest"?

  • Love David Selby! Thanks for sharing!
