The American bald eagle, a pinnacle symbol of this nation, has been removed from the list of endangered species. But, as Russ Mitchell reports, some people in New England feel it is too soon.

  • I've never seen one in the sky

  • All licensing fees for falconry should be passed on to corporate developers so that anyone willing to learn and care for a raptor can do so without being bled by all the different state and federal fees. It's not falconers who are endangering these animals but rather the massive land development which destroys their natural habitats.

  • Not only the bald eagle is threatened but don't forget what's already done - all life is gone from the Gulf of Mexico & who knows how far the oil & corexit will travel with ocean currents. The chemical industry still poisons earth, coal mining/mountaintop removal still goes on & of course 4 thousand plus oil and gas rigs in the Gulf still drilling. Just unbelievable what humans have done and all because the govt and the oil industry rather keep clean energy technology secret from the public.

  • woooo

  • @TheProuddaddy2009 Beautiful country?

  • Bald eagles are the most beautiful eagle in the world. I have only spotted 5 in Virginia of my life.

  • I am 67 and I have seen more baldys then ever as a hunter being out there.Norm NEW Mexico U.S.A.

  • I think it's still endangered... Why take it off the list anyways if it's barely above the mark of endangered?
