I've never seen this until today. As a deep, deep fan of the band and Neil Finn in particular, I don't think I've ever come to terms with Paul taking himself out. It's just so sad for his family and for his fans. Moreover, I feel like Hester was THE perfect foil for Nei's songwriting and was a tremendously underrated drummer. Not to mention a very talented musician. Wherever he is I hope he is peaceful.

One of my abiding memories of Paul ishsi walking around the edge of the balcony at the Birmingham Concert Hall during a song whilst Neil Finn was on the drums and I thought at any time he could fall into the crowd below at any time! What a great talent, it's a shame he spent that night alone in that park 6 years ago.

What a good looking guy with such a nice smile. The best thing about him was that he was beautiful inside and out.

I was lucky enough to see them live twice (1989 and 1991) and they put on a great show. They made some incredibly smart albums but never really broke into the US like they deserved to. I thought Paul was the soul of the band and haven't really liked any of their recent work too much. I also have long-term depression and can identify with his situation. I hope he found some peace.

Inappropriate use of an exclamation mark there!

I guess when a band is all you've ever known and then your home life falls apart with your wife leaving and taking your two kids there isn't much left and he got lonely and depressed....
Can easily happen!
if only one of us could have helped ... sad sad sad
