How far did you take METRA to catch the #30 bus?

@papkee :O ooh that makes sense! so the switch is so the train is closer to to station, that makes sense! sorry, i have only been on the electric lines once generally i am on union pacific or bnsf lines...

@nickeox It's called a gauntlet track. The one closer to the platform is for passenger trains, and the one further out is for freight. This is so that hanging debris off of freight trains don't hit passengers waiting on the platform. Or so I've been told by a conductor.

These cars have and amazing front view, don't they? I am planning to ride the South Shore tomorrow on my way in to Chicago. I'll get some video.

wtf is with the duel switch straight entrance?

Amazing view of Chitown coming in. I haven't been on the South Shore for years. I might go hop on tomorrow. :)

That really sucked about the return trip. My girlfriend and I were stuck in Hammond a few hours when that pole got knocked over. I was taking pictures at State Line Crossing when I heard about the accident.

These are neat but I still like the older ones better! cool video!

Great video. Thanks for posting.
I rode to the Hegwisch station on the South Shore. This is in Metra territory, in Illinois.
