iPod Touch isn't working at all!

I've tried restoring it, plainly turning it on, I've tried DFU mode ect.ect. nothing works! I haven't jailbroken it, so that isn't it... A little bit more info is, it was working fine until I tried updating to the newest version, it is a 1st gen btw. After failing to update I tried restoring, it didn't work so I tried again still didn't work... I restart my comp, reinstalled iTunes, the works... (when I was trying to restore, it wouldn't come on either so I was trying the whole sleep/wake home routine) after a few times of trying that it eventually stopped recognizing it as an iPod and eventually quit going into restore mode... Now I randomly plug it in at times and it goes to apple icon then white screen then sometimes charge screen (which shakes sometimes) to setting there until I decide to try restoring it again, or it will shut off after about 2 hours of idly setting there. I've replaced my USB cable because I thought it might have died, but that didn't make a difference either. I haven't called apple yet or anything because I wanted to see if I could fix it myself first, I'm open to any suggestions one can give so, please help me!

I've actually heard of people doing this, however it doesn't solve the problem every time, I can remember when I read that and started beating my iPod on stuff. XD

@SomeRandomGuyYouKno Hey! Did you fix ur Ipod? All you need to do is plug it to the computer even if the computer don't detect it and you hold the power and home button at the same time for 10 seconds :)

I had the same problem. Trust me live it charging it'll turn on it took mine almost a whole day to finally turn on.
