It works well but to tell you the truth try using the COMPACT QWERTY in portrait mode with word completion/prediction on. It works so well. You can type so freaking fast! Maybe even better than swype.

i having problems getting to sign with google o the tools like voice, search and narration, etc. he doesnt seem to allow you to sign in.

Yeah I had the Instinct s30 and it was horrible. Hope you upgraded to the HTC Hero. It's truly a MUCH better phone indeed.
