Once upon a dark autumn night
I was so very far from sleep
I longed to walk beneath the stars
Into the wood so dark and deep

Neither myth nor faerie tale
Could keep me from the path to the maze
But eyes upon me I could feel
Hidden in the shadows watching always

Something in the darkness pulled me deeper
Something in the madness eased my mind
Was I awake or was I dreaming
Cut the strings that bind me to mankind

Once while I was sitting in my room
One cold and silver winter's day
I could hear an otherworldly call
Try as I might I couldn't turn away

Somewhere in between the moss and the stone
The wind and the wood became my home
I lay myself upon the green
When the ivy overgrew I could never leave

  • Thanks for the upload. It's a lot better than i first thought when the track samples popped up a couple of weeks ago.Very relieved that there is a distinct rennaisance feel on a lot of the songs and hearing some of the songs in their entirety my opinion has changed somewhat. That being said Journeyman and celluloid heroes are still extremely dissapointing the former being way too poppy sounding and for me is the worst track they have ever produced.Overall however it's a very good album.

  • @jonybeam I think that they could use another drums... The "pop drums" are that thing, which isn't in their style... I agree with you ;) The first listening to the short parts of the songs some week ago was sad. I think they used bad drums in some songs... but I have to say the album is really great :)

  • @adiabatka You make a good point about the drums. I have noticed that in a few of the songs. It's a bit surprising too because I have seen them in concert and can say from experience that their drummer is incredibly talented. It's a bit of a shame that their style of music prevents him from being more innovative with the drums during their songs. I wouldn't mind if they actually let him break into a drum solo in one of the future albums because I was very impressed when he did so on stage.

  • @andysengines Thanks :) In their music I can imagine more medieval drums... like in Corvus Corax for example. I know they play different style of music, but the medieval drums would be better in it. It could sound very good, I think. But still it is wonderful album :)

  • DIS SONG IS BARE SHIT BRUV!

  • I ran away on a day resembling what this song describes. And I was a bit crazy, and the darkness soothed my mind.

  • this is a slower version of dance of the darkness

  • Goooood :)

  • @TitanNeard68 Whats the idea? Sure But which Rpg?

  • awesome!

  • This is the third song I've listened to by Blackmore's Night, and I now want to go on an RPG style magical quest with the guys from Slade. Anyone want in?

  • This song means something weird to me... about the Sasquatches in my woods. O_o

  • You know, If I keep listening to blackmore's night songs, I am going to be on the computer all day searching everyone and making it on my favorites list!

  • For me, this is one of the more darker songs on the album. It just puts a picture my head! I love it!
