  • @yamansitar - did y try resetting it - To reset the duet, disconnect the f/w lead, then hold down the center rotary and plug in the lead - keep holding down the rotary controller and after about 3 or 4 seconds you hear some clicks and it resets - if that doesnt stop the grinding, reboot - if that doesnt stop it and your mac is able to handle 32 samples then the duet is broken - that can happen, my first one broke down and had to be replaced

  • Hi dencetech, great detailed review on the Apogee duet which i am interested to buy,

one question for you if you don't mind answering please.

I have external reverb lexicon PCM-90,

Would I be able to connect the reverb or any external effect using the duet as an interface to Cubase.Or is there way to connect to the apogge in a way send and return.Or the Duet does not cater for that.,regards

  • I have a question. During recording, in order to hear the instrument through the headphone, I need to switch "None" to "Out L-R" on the Mixer, just as you mentioned at 3:56. But as long as it's at "Out L-R", I can't hear what has been playing in the computer. So if I want to hear what I just recorded in the Garageband file, I have to switch it back to "None". Also I can't play background loops while recording due to this issue. I'm wondering whether I'm doing something wrong or it is like this?

  • @Demo318 Non- midi, you said it yourself. The duet has no midi connections. So he's not using anything with midi. The drum machine is analog Im guessing, putting out l & r stereo sound. Therefore this drum machine he's using is essentially the same as a live performance instrument. I would say it would probably would have little or no latency, as this interface is designed PURELY for use with Garageband and Logic, so there should be no problem with latency...

  • I really think you should get some video editing straining, sometimes less-is-more! Part 5 is where it get's interesting, but, of my gosh! some hint about what it does before having trawled through the box opening sessions would have been good......

  • good question.. i dont know why ppl are thumbing you down!

  • How's the latency when using it for a live performance on a guitar or other live, non-midi instrument? I've got a Behringer FCA202, and I've noticed I can get it down to 1ms in GarageBand with smaller buffer, 3ms with bigger buffer, but I still notice it. Have you tried it with GarageBand? What about Mainstage or Mainstage 2?

  • 1st, what do you NOT like about the Duet?
