Ice fishing March 2 2008

We need a category - weather. Cold weather. What are they thinking. They caught 4 fish. whoohoo. (3 doz minnows $7.00)

do u guys have any tips on how to get through 4-5 inch deep ice wit out an auger

I used to love fishing.. mind you, even though I lived and grew up in Sweden, I never fished from the ice.. Looks like a nice, if a bit cold, day out.. :) 5 stars..

@drmmr456 you could maby try using an ice pick but it would be much easier to buy a simple handheld auger

In WI, you can't go through the ice with anything but an auger.

@drmmr456 ice pick, its all ive ever used on lake st.clair here in ontario and this year we had about 8-10 inches of ice

@drmmr456 You can use an axe or a chainsaw. An ice chipper will also work.
