I used to drive a 73 Pete 5 axle logger with 400 big cam Cummins and 18 speed. Don't know rear end ratio, but I had it up to 105 MPH on the long strait coming out of Williams CA to Ukiah Ca. I couldn't believe how smooth it was. I had three other trucks calling out traffic for me, I passed about 30 cars at once.

i think slow read ends are stupid if your heavy hauling you need a 15 or 18 speed with 3.55 rear ends and you can have what you need on both ends
