Climate change is a serious reality that affects us all. In Thailand, Lions are addressing this by teaching kids how to plant and care for trees.
Global warming is such a hot topic in Thailand that local Lions started a pilot project to raise awareness and engage young people in this important issue. With land donated by a local school, students and Lions created a botanical garden and environmental conservation center.
Through learning about different aspects of the environment, Lions hope to cultivate a new generation that cares for the environment. Best of all, the students get a break from the classroom and a chance to roll up their sleeves, dig in, and discover how they can improve the environment and help reverse the effects of global warming.
Lions are hoping to open the conservation center to the community so everyone will be able to learn about preserving and nurturing the environment.
I am a young Lions Club memeber, and climate change is a very important subject for me. We must get involved.
