A lot of this stuff I can see myself using. The first move looks a lot like a Pradal Serey move I learned this week.

There are a lot of similarities with many of the Filipino styles, concepts, movement and executions. I find the differences become more apparent when you start playing in the armor. Add 80 lbs of steel and leather and it's an entirely different game.

Nice stuff! Fluid and relaxed. How about doing an extra passo after the first accressere when doing the third master remedy (e.g. at 00:20? Also when you do the throw, if you take a passo step (with posta longa) to behind his lead leg, he cannot step back to save himself from falling (1:21).

Thanks for your comments. That extra pass is the final part of the takedown.I do teach it that way, but I dont put my partner down in casual play. As for the the second, the way I use that play is more ballistic than a simple takedown. By continuing my movement directly behind my opponent and "violently" transfering from a basic frontale position into a basic iron gate position I can fling him to the ground, causing his head to impact the floor forcefully.

Yeah, it's all about interpretation of the texts and martial intent. I gotta say i like the fling better.

my interpretations tend to be more martially inclined. For fighting the way I believe it was intended. Life n death, in the lists, on the battlefield or in a bar. I've seen some of Fiore's stuff done in a more artful or sporting manner.....nothing wrong with it, some plays even look like fun. it's just not my thing.

Yeah, i definitely agree with you there. This style was designed to kill people as quickly and efficiently as possible, and we should safely reflect that.

It's that "safely" part that causes so much trouble....oh well.....practice practice practice right?
