THE BLIZZARD OF 2008

The Blizzard of 2008 buried the city of Columbus, Ohio under 20.4 inches of snow between the morning of March 7th and the evening of March 8th. This storm broke three snowfall records for Columbus (shown at the end of the video) and resulted in widespread business and church closings, as well as the cancellation or postponement of various local events including the OHSAA State Basketball Championships. A large percentage of people throughout the city became stuck or stranded due to the storm. More than 1000 accidents were reported statewide and countless thousands more cars were abandoned along city streets and highways.

This footage was taken across both days of the storm as well as the day after.

  • There seem to be a lot of JLP fans in Columbus as in Detroit . Good taste !

  • This techno adaption of this song doesn't have the raw driving force that jean luc ponty's original does tho. I don't like it near as much

  • the first time i heard this song was the winter of 2008 and it moved me. I had just watched the sunset while lying in the snow as the moon hung in the sky the whole time getting brighter. The title "Don't let the world pass you by" and the music attached to the idea really inspired me.

    This is a nice video

  • Columbus has change soo much. new people move there and then there is different generations that change the views. I miss the good old days I grew up around Livingston and fair wood i used to walk to fair wood elm school everyday can't do that now days without an pervert trying to hump your kids .
