Carnaval De Cuba

The celebration of Carnival in Santiago, Cuba is unlike any other in the world.held in July, with no commercialization, it is treated as a religion, with the entire city shutting down to take part in the festivities. But this is a year long event, with rehearsals going on daily.

In Cuba there is Carnaval in all provinces in July every years and also each July 26 there is a National party, because it was the day Cuban Revolution started in Santiago the Cuba in 1952. And Carnaval in Cuba does nothing to do with religion; it is mostly related to their African origins. Cuban are free to practice any religion of their choice. In Santiago the Cuba there is one of the biggest Churches in Cuba "Iglesia de la Caridad" and most Cuban go there to confess as they want.

In Cuba BC (before Castro) Cubans were free to practice any religion and Carnaval was KING then as well! All the revolution did was take it out of context: MARDI GRAS SEASON! Thank God they still have the oportunity to look forward to something!

Thanks for your comment, however, you are a bit mixed up on your history.The revolution did not take it out of context from the traditional Mardi Gras Season. The Carnaval in Santiago was always held at the end of July.. Fidel Castro's revolution started on that day (with the attack on the Moncada military barracks) because they felt the soldiers would be hung over from the party the night before..

People could barely afford to eat, clothe themselves, and even less a roof over their heads. But that's not what the Cuban Mafia of Miami shows you in all the books. Thanks. Since the very beginning I knew I came across a great video, because it 's really informative, clear and fair. The way that lady expressed herself was astonished. I was happy to see her explaining everything in such a clear English and mostly knowledge based. She perfectly knew what she was talking about, PhD, right?.Those are kind of people we need to deliver the right information to the public and not the misleading ones. Cuban people are really nice. This is an outstanding production.
