@isokessu In the 1800s the Grand Principality of Finland was an autonomous part of Russia, having its own laws and institutions. But the supreme ruler was the Czar of Russia, representated by a Governor-General. Check "Russian Empire" in Wikipedia or in some other source and learn how the Russian Empire was governed.

@MrKoteng Finland was part of Sweden since about 1200 or something when Swedish made the crusader in to Finland, 600 years later Napoleon said to Alexander that attack "East-Sweden" or Finland and Alexander made it Grand Principality of Finland because he couldn't make Finland to be part of Russia. Later Soviets attacked Finland and failed with that. Finland has never been part of Russia and never will be
