  • the way I learned this, the kicks at 0:16 and 0:19 are low kicks. there are a few other differences. is it just the difference in the styles? I am taking a style of Okinawan Karate.

  • @cray7z7ppl

Usually the difference in styles are in the execution of maneuvers. This meaning, ours is a "hard strike" style that focuses on keeping moves quick and powerful without using too much energy, but maximizing the effect of the hit.

When it comes to kata's, then it is just different based on the origin of the martial art style.

  • It doesn't look like you're attacking the kata. It looks like you're just going through the movements.

  • @VinceSagara ahhhh, I see. I just started a few weeks ago, so i havn't really gotten into the FOCUS per-say. the more advanced students do a lot of speed hitting, and there is a lot of shifting stances for maximum energy transfer. Torque in punches is another big focus for us... IDK, might be for all styles...

  • YOU GUYS GOT IT EASY!

  • You should always keep your wrist straight.
