Two Fire Engines Respond to a Rescue Situation - Vancouver Winter Storm Aftermath - 20081229.
This is one of those times when you are in the right place at the right time (or really the wrong time for the person who these guys are helping). I just stepped out for the first time yesterday at 11pm-ish and didn't get more than a block from home on a stroll for fresh air when these guys showed up. Unfortunately the camera was on the wrong settings so I didn't get them coming towards me on 16th from Cambie but I figured it out eventually which is where you see it start as they turn onto Heather heading south to stop almost immediately. No fire. A rescue but they eventually left without any patient, and no ambulance was called. Yes, I did stop filming since it was getting repetitive and cold out and I needed to keep on walking. They left a few minutes later. The lesson, learn to check the camera settings really fast and get the money shots!!! Preset the settings when checking the camera before leaving.
In case that wasn't clear, I posted this within 90 minutes of it happening! Almost live broadcasting from Mount Thor Media Productions reporting events as close to real time as possible!
