WATCH IN 1080p with headphones for better experience! ;)

Today I went to the 2012 Rétromobile salon held in Paris (http://www.retromobile.com/) from 1 to 5th February. A lot of vintage and classic cars were present, including this incredibly rare and beautiful Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic.

Only 4 models of this car were made in the world (this particular one is chassis n° 57374). This car was first sold to Mr. Rothschild in september 1936, and had the exact same color combination as it has today: metallic silver/blue paintjob and a blue leather interior. This car won the 2003 Pebble beach concorso d'eleganza, and is said to be one of the best-looking car in the world due to the purity of its lines.

The Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic is well known for other reasons. First of all, it's a very rare car: only 4 exist in the world. The most famous model is without a doubt Ralph Lauren's black one. It is one of the most desirable classic cars, a must-have for a car collector. This explains the price tag of this car: in 2010, this particular car was sold at an auction for a price of +30 million $! That's right, thirty million US dollars... expensive, don't you think? :)

The car now belongs to the Mullin Automotie Museum in California.

Filmed with a Sony HDR CX700
Enjoy!

  • I prefer the Ferrari 250 GTO!

  • @NM2255 I also think I'd rather have the Ferrari 250 GTO in my garage, rather this SC Atlantic! By far! And @Gamerfan232949 > Actually, the price I said is "obscure", some sources say it's 38 million $ for this car haha! One thing for certain, the price was between 30 and 40 million! :P

  • @MJJSmoothCriminal I somewhat agree with you. But it's not much different than buying a Picasso painting, after all. The amount of money involved is just astronomical. Art (and this car is art) has always been a very safe haven for investors! And to reply to @PaperWeight231, Jay Leno actually owns a replica of the 57SC Atlantic! :)

  • French car <3

  • ACTUALLY YOU ARE WRONG

    SIX OF TYESE CARS EXIST

    I OWN THE OTHER FIVE

  • elle appartient a peter mullin je crois, et c'est au salon retro mobile ?

  • This car is simply way way overpriced! Is that because of history? You can buy 6 to 10 WWII veteran P-51 mustangs for the price of this vehicle.

  • ça c'est la classe j'en veux une ! elle coûte combien ?

  • @NM2255 The GT0 is more common, this also has a more powerful engine and is only really worth this much because it is so story backed. since 1938 it was basically lost in a warehouse somewhere in Italy and was maintained weekly by some guy for some other guy who died and said guy didn't know, so said car that was maintained for 70 year upwards and looked pretty in a photo but this isn't said car its just that said car was so well story driven. oh and said car was crushed because of no insurance

  • for a ride in history money to some people is like dirt...
