  • A Transmission performs two functions. It changes the gearing to allow the "axle or wheels" to change speed and you are correct it also changes the direction of the "axle or wheels"...so, you are both correct, in this video he just doesn't have it setup to reverse the direction because of the type of electric motor being used.

  • @Scerab it does change rotation direction but which ever gear its in is the speed it is allowed to go

  • Bud, u do no that the speed of the motors rotation is not changed by what gear it's in right.

    The engine will go at a speed and depending on what gear your in the wheels will turn at a different rate

    But u r right about the gear sizes and all that

  • I thought the transmission was the part that changes the direction of rotation. don't get me wrong, I love this, I just want to know if I need to change the name of my transmission video.
