Dude, If you knew anything about photography you would know Tony Corbell is far from a hack. He is a big wig you should respect him.

He's shooting in a studio in this video, so no battery packs are used; the D1 plugs directly into A/C mains using standard extension cords. It's a multivoltage design, so it will work on 120v/60Hz in North America, 230v/50Hz in Europe, etc.
