Accel isn't really an issue because of Stars and believe it or not, Mii is better for this than anyone else in the Medium weights. Why you may ask....well, Daisy receives a +4 to Speed, Peach has a +2 to Speed, Mii has +3 to Speed AND Offroad. The sand is considered offroad so each Offroad point is considered a Speed point.
Peach: 2
Daisy: 4
Mii: 3 + 3 = 6
Mii is statistically the best to use then.
Get a hacker to test with speedometer. I promise you I am right ;)
