What kind of man was Ludwig von Mises? As this unique film shows, Mises (1881-1973) was a man who never stopped fighting for freedom: not when the Nazis burned his books, not when the Left blackballed him at universities, not when it seemed as if statism had won. With courage and genius, he fought big government until the day he died ... in 25 books, hundreds of articles, and more than 60 years of teaching.
Mises's battles against Communists, Nazis, and other socialists, are featured in this film, as are his ideas of Liberty. There is also the old Vienna he loved, the Bolshevik prime minister he dissuaded from Communism, and a cast of villains from Lenin to Hitler, as well as such supporters and students as Murray Rothbard, Ron Paul, Bettina Greaves, M. Stanton Evans, Mary Peterson, Joseph Sobran, and Yuri Maltsev.
Among his many accomplishments, Mises showed that socialism had to fail, that central banking causes recessions and depressions, that the gold standard is honest money, and that only laissez-faire capitalism is fully compatible with Western civilization.
Mises was the twentieth century's foremost economist, and one of its most important champions of Liberty. Here is a film that does justice to this extraordinary man, and to his equally extraordinary ideas.

Of course i know that!I don´t like Keynsianism either.I am highly educated in economics and Neo-Classical,Supply-Sider,but this Austrian crackpots with their Bow-ties is a danger to society if they get influence!! Austrian economics, differs to al other schools by singing the praises of capitalism as a Disequilibrium System!!Even Keynesian types understand that the economic goals is to maintain an Optimal Equilibrium!Pure lunatics!
@treddas851 i believe you have "propaganda" and truth confused. facts are facts, like it or not. Keynesian economics is a tool of today's elites (not the natural elites of yester year) to stay in power when they deserve none. theyre clinging for their dear lives to stay wealthy on the basis of doing nothing for the progress of humanity. good luck to them and yourself in their lie of a system. I myself choose the self-reliance, intellect, and freedom of the free market
well if those "who matter" have the ability, intelligence, ambition, and forsite to succeed then yes, rewards should belong to them!! it is only just and fare. and along the way they will provide jobs and raise the standard of living for all. unfortunately, we are NOT living in a true capitalist, free-market economy and those who are being rewarded are usually those who have done so via the State and its inevitable corruption. thats the fact of reality.
Trickle-down economics doesnt work, never did. And people who matter usually Lie, Cheat, or Steal to get on top of the capitalistic economic pyramid SCAM.
first off, theres different types of "trickle-down" ecomomics; but im gonna assume you mean free-market economics....really? its NEVER worked?? you need a history lesson that i cant give you on youtube. and who allows ppl to lie cheat and steal to get ahead? THE GOVERNMENT, by insulating industry from the wrath of the marketplace. in a free market the consumer has the most power and decides who will succeed. it would be alot easier to boycott a certain company if there was real competition.
...which would, of course, explain why, during the 1980s (unlike the 70s and the 90s), the rich got richer and the poor got ... RICHER (a point in which the IRS, the OMB, and the US Census Bureau agree).
You seem to be unable to distinguish between the current American system, and that of a true free market. The system in America today is actually just a copy of that from that in Europe. The only difference is that in our Constitutions. Fiat money is in every market today, with its booms and busts, as well as its cabals and monopolies. None of these things could occur in a true free market, because it would be a mutual agreement in exchange, rather than one under duress of government decree.

The poor complain; they always do,
But that's just idle chatter.
Our system brings rewards to all,
At least to all who matter.

Oh...
I guess it wouldn't.
Never mind.
