A more fair would be...

Ming Warrior - Iron shield or rattan shield (which actually deflects gun fire, this is proven when Koxinga defeated the Dutch in Fort Zeelandia), a real Dao meant for battle and not martial arts, coat of plates armour instead of leather, and a musket (the Ming used them in volleys similar to Europeans).

Let's leave the French cowardice aside for a second - this is biased and complete crap!

The Ming weapons are indeed Chinese, but the Rapier and Wheellock Pistol were Italian, not French. The Chinese weapons were also meant for long range, the French have been given close range weapons. Lastly, the Dao is a slashing sabre, inferior to a thrusting Rapier - Which, again, isn't even French! This is completely stacked against the Chinese, I'm 100% certain I know who will "win".

Muskets vs Nest of Bees? They have very different purposes. The former is a primary armament meant to kill one person at medium range (or a group with volley fire). The latter is an area effect weapon meant to be fired into closely packed formations at long range. I doubt one would ever use a Nest of Bees for squad combat.

Pray tell, why not use the Ming's own muskets to see how they compare.
