Very nice! One tiny detail--Harry did NOT leave the Elder Wand in Dumbledore's office but in Dumbledore's grave although [MOVIE SPOILER!!!! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW I MEAN IT HONESTLY REALLY I AM TOTALLY SINCERE RIGHT NOW...!]...seems to me Harry's decision in the movie actually was a wiser action.

@zahir13 See, I felt like the movie way didn't make any sense. After all, if the wand could just be broken in half then why didn't Dumbledore do that in the first place? He wanted the power of the Elder wand to die with him, but Draco ruined that plan.

@TwoSassyRedheads But negating the Elder Wand was only one tiny part of the overall plan to defeat Voldemort. Until he was, Dumbledore needed it to help counter him. And the fact the Elder Wand even EXISTED served as a distraction--for Voldemort, which helped Harry. Meanwhile, the fact that Voldemort never did become the wand's master but THOUGHT he did proved very useful in the end.
