Mongolian history and culture - Khitan empire

A video about the Khitans (388 CE-1218 CE) with a collection of Khitan-related pictures carefully chosen from various sources. The Khitans played an important role in the history of East Asia, Central Asia and Eurasia in general. Yelu Chucai was a Khitan advisor who was highly respected by Genghis Khan.

Their Liao dynasty succeeded the Uyghur empire of the gaoche Turks as a great civilized empire. They also established the Kara-Khitan Khanate in Central Asia, having their capital at Balasagun in Kyrgyzstan.

Cathay, Kitai (in Russian) and Khitad (Mongolian) are different versions of the name "Khitan".

The Khitan people were great innovators of foreign and domestic policy both in China and Central Asia. I am using them as a case study in my current dissertation about the nature of power politics inside Inner Eurasia. They really should be more famous globally than they are today! Both the Liao Dynasty and the Kara-Khitan Khanate have alot to offer both historians and International Relations peoples like me.

@lordzilu1584 if u consider 征服王朝 as a part of chink history, why don't chinks apology Japanese for mongol invasion from 元? u guys make an excuse like that was mongolian, not chinks, right? so, now u say 元 is a part of chink history? WTF!?

chink history is 秦, 漢, 隋, 唐, 宋, 明, etc.

遼 is mongolic khitan, 金 is jurchen, 元 is mongolian. 清 is manchurian and they are called 征服王朝, not chink history. don't steal the other histories.

any one can accept Chinese culture can be considered as Chinese, this was carried through thousands of years

Most Chinese have ancestors can trace back to Khitans, Xianbeis, Yue, Qiang, Jurchen, Huns and Turks

@lordzilu1584 Chinese means Han 漢 Chinese. Their own territory was 中原 and they just add 征服王朝 into their own history for a sinocentrism 中華思想. "Northern Chinese" are not actually Han Chinese.

@SuperRemyBonjasky Khitan empire was created by Mongolian before Genghis Khan's Mongolian empire. Khitan beat Bohai and conquered the northern part of China. This is why European misuderstand Khitan means China. China is Han Chinese and different from Mongolian Khitan. Khitan lost to Manchurian and ran away to the west and created Kara-Khitan there. But they got to be a part of Mongolian empire overall. Magyar is Turkic, not Mongolian. European consider Asian are all the same.
