"Good Luck, they have the internet!"

    Statement of the century. Seriously.

I agree with what Crispin says towards the whole violence thing and here's my philosophy (or whatever you want to call it): Kids are going to find out about violence, death, etc at some point ANYWAY. Might as well let them learn early so parents can get the fuck over it.

Well; I think Batman the Animated Series struck a good balance between mature story-telling and kid-friendliness.

I agree with Crispin Freeman completely, this "moral obligation to protect the children" mentality is ridicules; TV's shows, video game, music, etc all get a ridicules amount of political flack for odd things. I can understand why they do it, but it needs to fixed because as Crispin said "..they have the internet" and its true, the ideology that children are isolated from this often dark and twisted world is completely wrong. They need to learn how to deal with it!

Are you just angry that you'll never, ever see Crispin with a male partner? Your post reeks of fangirl horomone imbalance.

Don't you love it when people forget that other people have opinions of their own?

He wasn't complaining about Teen Titans and he didn't say anything about sex. You completely misunderstood everything he was trying to say. He was saying that we need to teach kids about the world so they don't get in trouble when their older. You can have an animation teach lessons without it being realistic. Why can't a show about superheros teach lessons? Also, if you start freaking out every time someone doesn't like the same things you do, your not going to make many friends.

Not saying that you don't need to be creative or have imagination. I agree whole-heartedly that you do. Also agree that it is good to be unique, but you also need to be able to FUNCTION in normal society, not fit in. The point was that people need to be more open to the idea of cartoons that are aimed at an older audience. Cartoons that aren't just for children, that can appeal to teenagers and adults.
