  • I remember seeing this when it made it's network premiere. his is when I fell in love with that fine Jane Seymour.

  • They should've had an extended ABC Sunday Night Movie promo for this and the 2nd movie.

  • I started uploading it, hopefully have it finish by the weekend.

  • Remember when networks actually put on stuff that was GOOD? Oh my God, watching this again i am reminded how much more I HATE reality tv.

  • 2 movies in 1 night? How did they do it?

  • Survivor and Rocky Balboa not included.

  • The original post is correct. This is from 1980. Interestingly, the movie was shown in two parts on consecutive Sundays. Does anyone who worked with ABC at the time know what the programming strategy was behind that decision?

  • These makeshift graphics are being used because the REAL ABC Sunday Night Movie was coming up right after this movie. The spinning logo is from the former movie graphics (from before the streaks and marquees version existed).

  • This Sinbad airing was 1981 as best I recall. I was a newbie. Joel started with ABC back in radio days, and resides in Fort Lee, NJ. So likely DID do local support promos... not sure. Ernie Anderson took over doing the ABC movies when ABC wanted to do it all from LA and Joel wouldn't relocate (around 1983).

  • Joel Crager . . . that was a name I recall from being listed among ABC staff announcers on a tribute website to the old WABC Musicradio 77 (meaning, he was New York-based). Listening to a sound file of him then, Mr. Crager sounded somewhat younger (this was the '60's), but rather similar to here . . . did he do any local WABC-TV booth work prior to doing the ABC movie shows? In any case, I shall remember this, and thanks for clearing the air (no pun necessarily intended) . . .
