that keyboardey thing is probably a sampler. i just read the 33 1/3 mini book on Loveless, and discovered they did a lot of experimenting with that stuff in the studio recording that album. apparently colm was very ill during that as well, and was forced to program a great deal of the drums. a great read, all in all. i recommend it!
