American Airlines YAAY

The song YAAY (Why American Airlines Why?) is a fun and creative way of expressing labor's displeasure with the hundreds of millions of dollars of bonus money awarded to top executives at American Airlines over the last decade. Meanwhile, American was spiraling toward bankruptcy with management pointing the finger at labor. Make no mistake, we have no problem with bonuses when good, sound business decisions lead to a profitable airline and morale is high. We do have a problem when employees are told they must take wage cuts and other concessions to stay out of bankruptcy but no such concessions were taken at the highest level. Now put on your dancing shoes and enjoy!

Sympathy for the In-Flight Crews of AA/AMR?

"KARMA" will get you, they are enjoying the fruit of their orchard. When AA/AMR absorbed Trans World Airlines (TW/TWA) as management, APFA and them conveniently seating idle let the TWA crews be stapled to the bottom of the Seniority List. Adding salt to the wound after 9/11 with the excuse of low volume they furlough the TWA Crew, implemented mandatory overtime on the AA Crews for 5 years as the TWA Crews lost their legal recall rights and their jobs!

I never flew AA and after that song, I'm 100% I never will. Fun fact: AA could never compete with the top airlines, that's a simple fact. Singapore Airlines, for example, is riding in very nice profits. Why? Because they're GOOD, something AA hasn't been for ages. The air traffic market has massive competition. AA couldn't make the cut, that's how it goes. Has nothing to do with greedy CEOs when the competition is 5 million times better.

The bottom line is there are people out there willing to do the job for less money. As long as they are on the same playing field as you (ie. pay taxes) all this just sounds like whining about the facts of life. If you want to be pissed at someone how about Obama? He's the guy letting people who pay no taxes (illegals aliens) take your jobs. Now THAT isn't fair.
