The earliest surviving Alamo film, produced in 1915 by American film pioneer D.W. Griffith, Martyrs of the Alamo is truly a rare cinematic treat.

Telling the tale of the courageous Texan stand against oppression and tyranny, with its impressive sets, wonderful battle scenes, and expressive performances, Martyrs surpasses the expectations implied by the words "epic filmmaking."

Witness the birth of Texas and get the true meaning to the immortal words, "Remember the Alamo," with this rare and thrilling cinematic treasure. (1915 • 72 Min. • B/W)

  • @Raspu2 Those weren't the sole and only reasons but bearing arms and the harassment not related to the slaves problem. Mexicans also feared further that Americans from the north might want to invade Mexico.

  • @ImDiscombobulated That was a mistake with my english, I think thah was many reasons and the economic interest was the big one. And don´t put word in my mouth, I take like an insult "you are fool of crap", or you talked with that words with your history teacher?

  • @Raspu2 How can there be only one reason and that being of slavery then an added principal reason of USA economic interest. That is two reasons.

Is that still insulting to you? Oh, now I just did there.. you are insulted by everything that doesn't go your way it seems.

  • @ImDiscombobulated Ok, thats better, you see, the people can talk, but you continue the insults, if that is you way to be, it´s your problem. The slave system was only one reason of that war, the principal reason was the economic interest of USA.

  • @Raspu2 My maturity has nothing to do with the crap you are fool of. If you are insulted it is because you are guilty. I didn't call you any names and what was "rational?" Yes, you have an opinion and so did I.

The Americans weren't in despise of Mexican slave law as the reason for The Alamo. How is that rational?

How insulting YOU are to the cause.

  • @ImDiscombobulated Ok, I put my rational opinion and you put an insult...very mature man.

  • @Raspu2 You are fool of crap.

  • The USA people must killed Santa Anna, he was a hindrance for Mexico. But I am mexican and I´m don´t agree with the independence of Texas, it was made only by US people that don´t fight for Mexico and after that are a history of mexican discrimination in Texas and in hole USA. And the people of the Alamo supported the slave system for that was taht they want the independence, because in Mexico slaves are forbidden. I don´t disallow the heroism, only the motives. ¡VIVA MEXICO!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this!!! I've been looking for this film for so long! It was well worth the wait.
