i feel like i relate almost directly to David because not only am i a pianist (though im more like a pianist-in-the-making), but i had a nervous breakdown several years ago and it was diagnosed schizoaffective. I know how much of a nightmare mental illness can be, not being able to think right and being incapable of trust or emotional stability. But i also know how awesome it is to overcome and realize you're not alone. Most composers had serious issues, but are among the greatest geniuses!

Amazing that he could overcome mental illness to be able to play to this standard - sad that others, who should know better, think him gifted.

What a treat to see the real David after being enthralled by Shine. Mental illness?? I think the real mentally ill are those that sound normal but have no soul and float through life in a fog putting others down. David is one of my heroes.
