There are not many things that are cooler than watching the Grumman amphibs waddle onto the shore.
I have watched this video a dozen times and it still makes me smile.
Watching a PBY do it is even better.
I don't think it was a common thing for PBYs to do.
I only saw it done once.
But it was beautiful.
