go listen to my mixes and judge me and tell me im a hack bro. why am i getting booked then? im not genre retarded , but im not a genre dictionary either. i dont care how long you've been raving for, you're just being rude. i mix songs that go well with other songs, and genre hopping is crucial nowadays, so i do that as well. just because i might not have every single genre title memorized doesnt mean im not dead passionate about what i do and has no bearing on how well i perform. seriously dude,
no, being a good dj as far as mixing go's its crucial, or your kind of just a hack. thats how any oldshooler see's it, ive been raving for over 10 years and been into edm since 98.
@usmccougarfan yea, but house is a little more open ended, its a little more common to find house around 135, but dubstep is almost always 140, so when people have been doing stuff at 145 it breaks into a new style.
@forwardpdx get a crowd moving. sub genres and genres are nothing but titles bro, i understand your point, but i dont think its deadly crucial either.
@forwardpdx it may have fidget house-y sounds and samples, but its still in half time aka about 72.5 bpm, so it cant be considered house in any shape or form either. Im currently working on producing a dirty trance/complextro/progressive house style at 135 bpm, but it would still be considered just house to most people. And im almost positive that even if i didnt know EVERY single little sub genre out there, it pretty much has no bearing on my understanding of set structure and my ability to
@usmccougarfan i would call it wubdub before i would call it dubstep, but im just asking a question becuase i want opionions, it has gotten so far away from original dubstep, it sounds more like fidget house at 145, so im just asking, but then people who dont know shit want to talk shit. most would just call it brostep or wobble dubstep. but its clearly not just dubstep. and if you dj, understanding subgenres is deadly crucial
@forwardpdx dude, im really not trying to sound like an asshole or a know it all dj, but if you know so much about dubstep sub genres, why are you asking the question in the first place if its common knowledge? this, to me, sounds just like any other generic wub wub dub, i wouldnt even call this brostep.
