All you need to to build your own Jacobs Ladder is a few old microwave ovens and a complete disregard for your own personal safety.

The slow motion segments were done with the Casio Exilim-F1 at 600 and 1200 fps.

The end of the video has a brief technical description of how it works. (Please don't ask for clarifications, if you can't figure it out from watching this video then you probably shoudn't be building one of these!!!). Remember, a MOT (microwave-oven-transformer) produces 2000 volts and enough current to cook your dinner, so I don't think you get any second chances if you get shocked....

  • Good job, i like it. ^^ Awesome slomo.

  • now add capacitors on that and you'll be able to draw arcs out to a ft. and a half!

and they transformers will run way cooler!
