I've been to Jerash and to palmyra, also to philadelphia (modern Aman) back in the 1980's when I worked for a steel company in Saudia Arabia. I stopped in Jordon on the way home and stayed for a week. Jordon is an amazing place and the people very nice. Many Jordanians appreciate their pre-Islamic past. I saw the ruins of that hippodrome & of the arch you posted earlier. That was an AWESOME reconstruction.There is also a beautiful ruin of a public fountain in heart of Jerash.
