One mile wide wedge tornado from near Yazoo City, Mississippi on April 24, 2010. Intercepted the tornado near Holly Bluff just east of the Mississippi River, and tracked the huge wedge to the damage path in Yazoo City, after which we assisted with the rescue effort until emergency personnel gained control of the situation. • Reed forgot his ADHD meds: 1:03-1:12

  • This is so sad my aunt and my whole family lived in a house next to Ribyes and it is devastating to know my family went through that!

  • @ROFLPS3suckz They would have cooked for them. That's how they are in Mississippi. If those guys helped people, and their equip. worked w/o a danger of gas leaks getting ignited and they had power, I don't have a doubt in my mind they would have :)

  • @PmanAndDdawg Friendly people that made me, a Chicago born-and-raised TV meteorologist, feel like I was welcome and loved like I had been born there. I LOVE Mississippi :-)

  • @PmanAndDdawg WXVT 1998-2000 Greenville :-) My favorite State in the US for tornado chasing. AL is next.

  • @KayKayCuti3 So many parents did that in Saragosa, TX at a pre-school graduation in May 1987 (I think) as an F4 destroyed the building. Most of the parents died, but all the kids (head-start ceremony) lived for the same reason. SO sorry :( she's ABSOLUTELY a hero!! I was at WXVT in the late 90s as the Chief Meteorologist and I was dying when I was watching this. So worried for the people who were so good to me in MS all the time I was there. I left Chicago at 11PM the night before to chase.

  • KayKay, I am so sorry for your loss. (((HUGS))) she was a hero for what she did. GOd bless her soul. I pray that her family is doing OK... I can only imagine how traumatic of a loss this was for them.

  • I'm from yazoo city.. and yes it was a awful day.. my friend was killed in this tornado.. she was at home with her three boys when she received a call from a family member telling her to take cover.. she put her three boys in the hall and covered them with a mattress.. she played in top of it.. she gave up her life for those precious boys... I think anyone can agree they would have done the same thing for their child.. she's a real hero... will forever be missed and never forgotten....

  • on interestate 55, i just drove down there not long ago, the tree bark from where it crossed the road, is STILL stripped to this day, and the path it tore is still there.. and the trees are bent over still xD
