Este é o meu país, a cena se refere a corrida pelo ouro em Serra Pelada. Meu pai quase teve participação neste lugar.

I was first introducted to the astounding composer Philip Glass at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games, for which he composed an amazing fanfare. When I later sought out more of his hypnotizing music I discovered POWAQQATSI and GLASS WORKS, and they became a permanent of my life's soundtrack. I never tire of hearing them. I was thrilled to catch a segment of ANTHEM 2 from POWAQQATSI in the movie THE TRUMAN SHOW with Jim Carry.

POWERFUL IMAGES, POWERFUL MUSIC, POWERFUL MESSAGES.
I saw Powaqqatsi some 20 years ago, and it brought me to tears. I've watched it several times since and cried at each time: because, when it comes to the poor and their exploitations, nothing had changed in the world, in those 20 years.
Yet they ooze dignity!

I feel very sorry for these people when I see them.
If I could do something for them, help them to get a higher
standard of living,
so that they could buy big motor vehicles
that makes noise and pollution
and if I tried to make any objection
they could kick me in the ass
call me crazy
and tell me to mind my own business.

@Tothe2012 Remember that all corporations are creations of the State. They are given specific legal privileges that real humans do not have, and allow the wealthy and well connected to commit things that would land you or me in jail. It is the power of the State, enforced by men with guns and prisons, that allows corporations to profit at the cost of real humans. Unless the individual people who profit from corporate damage and fraud are punished, nothing will change.

@VforVideo Yes, my wife and I saw Glass conducting the music for Powaqqatsi at a performance in Gainesville, Florida some years back. It was wonderful evening and I still cannot understand how they could perform this live with only a half dozen musicians. This piece is one of my favorites.
Gold mining in Brazil. Most of the people in this video are probably dead of metals poisoning or complications by now.
