¡Asi se toca! (thats playing) The nineth selection was a beautiful guitar solo perfomed by Daniel Sánchez on flamenco guitar that very sadly was deleted by mistake. The last selection was a Garrotin dance performed by bailadora Victoria Lara. She begins the dance wearing a mans. ¡Pisa fuerte! (step strong) This dance is characterized by fast turns, quick intense footwork, held lifts and falls and dramatic poses. Traditionally, the Garrotin is thought to have originated from Asturias in Northern Spain. Notice that Lisa participates in the performance with jaleo (approbation) and Palmas (rhythmic clapping). Daniel Sánchez played flamenco guitar with canto (song). ¡Olé! (Note: all comments are by a WSU music history student for Dr. Naylor's class and not by the performers)
