I'm sorry, but this guy doesn't really understand what he is talking about. The sole purpose of the lips is to vibrate. The change in pitch comes from controling the level of the tongue in the mouth (like when whistling) and the speed/intensity of the air and NOT by deliberately tightening the lips. These should stay as relaxed as possible in order to vibrate. His weren't which is why he couldn't buzz right up and down without the sound breaking up!

I have never been more bored in my life listening to this ass clown. It made me want to bury my head under the ground and quit music for good! I just started trombone but I had better tone than this ass whole.

Alright guys, this isn't a very intense video for lessons. In a very basic sense, yeah, tightening and loosening your lips is what changes pitch. I'm sure this is a good trombone player. Maybe not an expert but it's not a particularly bad video.

Besides, if you want to actually learn how to play the trombone (or any instrument for that matter) you're not gonna get too much out of YouTube video lessons anyways.
