2) Theory in science is at the TOP of the ladder. Theories EXPLAIN the evidence (facts). facts> testing> hypothesis> more testing> laws> models> theory

it only becomes a theory after many years of independent testing and peer review

facts are a dime a dozen in science and are at the LOW end of the pole
