Why would you roast coffee in a mall?
-
I'm getting rid of a Sonofresco 1100 1lb roaster and buying a Hottop B. The HT's smaller batch size appeals to me, as does a drum roaster, and more control over roast profiles. The Sono is a great roaster for anyone wanting a "plug & play" roaster!

A lot of malls would not allow smoke to be in the building, how do you get about this problem?
-
try roasting the beans until they star making a popping sound
-
Thank you, I´ll try waiting a few days.
I have an Imex CR-100 and the beans get brown, but so far I never achieved a coffee with full "body" / flavour.

This music is awful, and your children are noisy and should be thrown in the roaster.

@hudsterboy
Those children should be thrown in the roaster for sure! Good thing I don't have any kids though, but you make the video when you can, even if the kids next door decide to scream.
It also doesn't matter what music you pick, somebody hates it. Should I change it? What should I go with? Some Nine Inch Nails, or maybe some Johnny Cash doing NIN?

Is it true you have to wait 48 hrs before grinding to get better taste?
Hewson60 2 years ago
You can try it right after roasting, but most of the time you will find that 48 hours on to about 7 or 10 days is the sweet spot. Before that, you get a "chemical" CO2 sort of flavor that overshadows the true flavor. Beyond that and it usually starts to lose a lot of the nuances. Just my experience.

Nice Video,
IMO looks better than the Gene.

I had the Gene. I liked it, but liked the Hottop better. But at nearly $1000, I finally ended up with a Sonofresco Fluid Air Bed (FAB) roaster (closer to $2000, but worth it for me, as it is bulletproof).
