  • Media Composer 3.5 has native support for the XDCAM EX SxS card or folder structure. There's no longer a need to use the Clip Browser to rewrap the MP4 files as MXF.

  • does this work on a mac with 3.0.1 ? is the new clip browser out? where do I get it?

    thanks

  • MP4 files rewrapped as MXF files using the Windows Clip Browser software can be imported into a Mac based Media Composer 3.01. I have no idea when the V2 of the clip browser will be released to enable the MXF rewrap on a Mac. That is a question for Sony.

  • The version 2 of the Sony XDCAM EX clip browser was released with Mac/Intel and Windows support. This version will allow for a direct export of MXF files to the Avid MediaFiles > MXF > 1 folder and the creation of an AAF file to import into a bin.

  • Xdcam ex codec is only on Avid media Composer 2.8.3?

  • The 1920X1080 35Mb codec was first added in Media Composer 2.8.3 and Xpro 5.8.3. The 1440X1080 25Mb codec is the same as HDV and is in earlier versions.

  • How would you compare this software compared to Final Cut Pro 6, Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere? I'm looking for software where I can produce material as fast as possible with good text options, color and sound correction possibilities without exporting it to other software which is lame and really wastes time.

  • What about coming from a full scale Sony XD Cam with footage to the Media Composer?

  • This works with the x.8.3 release of the Avid.

  • Does this work for clips recorded at 35 Mb/sec?

If so, does the same process work with Avid Xpress Pro?
