Goldstone was probably getting attacked very bad by the jews and he couldn't take it. His family also lives in israel so i guess it would be hard for him to even put a foot in israel, so coward Goldstone takes back the report.

Goldstone did feel guilty - and rightly so. In his striving to be seen as a non partisan Jew, he did in fact deal a blow to justice. He has now acknowledged that if he knew then what he knows now, his report would have been very different. He simply failed in his original aim of gathering the facts, he has since tried to make amends, but sadly the damage is done.

I think Justice Goldstone's loyalty to the law is ultimately superceded by his loyalty to the Jewish community and to the state of Israel. I'm only speculating but I believe that in the end, he felt guilty about his statements in the original report, and, therefore, felt it necessary to modify his comments.
