In the side impact, a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door at 50 km/h. In the pole test, the car tested is propelled sideways at 29km/h into a rigid pole.

I saw this while working for an Avis franchise. Somebody had jumped on the roof of this beercan on wheels, and the insurance company told us it was a writeoff due to structural integrity being compromised

@Mechknight73 So that's how they did crash test in Australia, Japan & Europe...they jump on top of the roof & check for bent cross braces, how ingenious...I'd rather let Paris Hilton do the safety rating, at least her real life alcoholism can emulate a better test results than jumping on the roof! Hahahahahaha

HAving seen them in the field, they are a failure. If you look closely at the footage, you can see that they would have only just passed Euro spec rules. If someone of average wieght jumped up and down on the roof (and not from any great height) the roof will buckle like a beer can. Take off the roof hood lining, and you'd see the cross braces bent. Euro, Japanese and Australian cars don't do that
