"Hatred?" Joan could have made the same appearance without Christina and no one would have noticed. The idea that she was enraged/jealous over the presence of her daughter makes no logical sense. Why would she (Joan) have appeared with her (Christina) in the first place, if any of this were remotely true? As of today's date (01/12), Christina, bless her heart, is long past the time (age 70 and counting) when she should still be suckling on the teat of her mother's fame. Rest dear - enough!

As for Christina - that bitch is still suckling on the teat of her mother's fame, as she is doing a new one woman show exploiting more of her mother - including nude photo's...Sorry, but Christina is an evil witch.

That is very silly. Such a professional and experienced actress would have never done that. period. And Joan wanted to be perfect and to show that her family was also perfect. Give me a break... people are still trying to find fire where there arent even ashes... calm down people... So she was an abusive parent... well I am sorry, but there are many more and much worse abusive parents and no one gives a shit about them. Me included.

@musculusgarbos Actually joan was not abusive. Christina made all that up so she could exploit the fame of her mother and make a quick buck...Joan's other daughters swear that she was not as mean as Christina made her out to be...christina was a bitch...still is...

I just don't buy that Joan was that manipulative as Christina's book states. I think Joan was probably strict, but many parents were back then and are today as well. I'm sure it wasn't easy at times being "the daughter of Joan Crawford" but who among us hasn't had some tough times as a kid? I am sure Christina was disciplined from time to time, but I was smacked around alot too and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone - I didn't write a book about it.

actually, you are ALL WRONG, yes, Joan was mad, because at the time of this telethon, Christina was staring in her soap opera which her acting was receiving great reviews, taking the spotlight away from Joans fame, Jerry Lewis asked Joan to appear WITH her daughter, this was a slap in the face to Joan who had done the telethon for Jerry for years alone, so yes, Joan was mad.....

Take a look at her in other videos/interviews. She appears serious. Not smiling that often. I'm like that too. It doesn't make me a bad person. It doesn't mean I beat my kids. No one knows what went on in their house but them. I personally believe Christina was pissed that Joan didn't leave her anything, and set out to write a book that would make her a millionaire. And it did. Karma's a bitch, Christina.
