1957 Johnson 35 hp outboard, from start to finish. I bought this motor south of Austin last summer and finished it a few weeks ago. Parts from Dan Gano, Paint by Bergmans Body shop. Decals from peter@nymarine. If you would like more information on parts, paint or decals....message me.

Sir, at 2:47 , it looks like a vacuum operated switch with a single wire coming off it. What is that item called, and what does it do? I have one on my '56 30hp Johnson, and I swear it was cutting off spark to one of the cylinders at high RPM's. thanks. Im a subscriber. great vids.

30 ft waves.....9 ft boat??? Freaky coincidence, like a johnson breaking down. lol
I had a 9.9....rewind spring kept snapping from our "over zealous" power cranks on the little fella. We knew how to wrap a rope around the flywheel.... seems somebody knew how to row their 6 horse back to shore...
I just picked up an old 35 Johnson. Gonna try and start it soon I hope. Loved the original "Rusty Cage" by the way!

I have owned and operated both Honda and Yamaha outboards. I like them very much but the whole point of restoring this beauty was to mount on the back of my 1957 FeatherCraft boat. Boat and motor were built the year I was born.

Ian from "The Mason at Large Production" is in the next to the last shot....he came all the way over from Scotland to see me....we had a grand time of it!
