American Suikinkutsu - testing prototype

What goes on inside a suikinkutsu? Here you can see the miniature aluminum, nylon, and cast epoxy "shishi odoshi," or "deer scare-ers," that reside inside of FlowMotion Art's American Suikinkutsu at Cascade Valley Hospital. Notice Garth Murray's precise metalworking skills, honed in his study of jewelry. The internal design from this prototype (whose blown glass water vessel is not filled up enough) was largely unchanged for the final public art piece.
