Incredibly weak arguements for the cause of ID being put into schools.

Lee Strobel, an apologist's mastermind(did you laugh too?) and "former Atheist" (I'm almost crying) put the Grey matter to work in favor of ID.

His strongest argument is that they have compiled a list from scientist who acknowledge applying skepticism and then he refutes his own argument when the rational thinker brings up how the same number of people were compiled on a list just with the name Steve(in favor of evolution). Strobel goes on about how he would like students to be taught skepticism which would be great if he really meant it or knew what it meant. He only wants people to doubt a scientific theory which is not under debate by scientist, only the actual mechanisms of how it works. Evolution is just as true as the theory of gravity which also has "holes" in it.

If you want to debate about evolution don't bother, go to www.talkorigins.org and figure it out for your self.

The list of scientist mentioned by Strobel is not only invalid as a discussion item but certain scientist after it's publication have been trying to get off of the list as they were mislead as to it's use and were not refuting evolution, pay attention to the wording.

For those who do not already know science is not a democracy, it is based on the evidence and not peoples opinions or wishes. Creationist have not produced evidence for their claims as their claims are not based on science but only on religious ideas.

  • There is a major difference between teaching students to be critical and teaching them to learn rubbish and century old imaginations.

  • You want intelligent design in science classroom? Fine, you can have that, as long as we get to bring our scientific non-theistic ideas, views and facts into your churches. Game on, bitches.

  • This host is a moron.

  • @blackman6270 Yeah, it's an uphill battle though... :/ But honestly I think the problem is that we're also theologically illiterate. We've sort of erected our own "straw man" in the last 150 years... and people like Dawkins came come and easily tear it down. It's our own fault. I just wish people in the church were willing to think deeply about their faith and ask themselves hard questions. But thanks man :)

  • "look at all sides of issue" => jeez Lee, i bet you have not studied all religions before you decide on Christianity!

  • @abeeftec Common ancestry issue:

    1. Its proven, irrefutably that we are STILL part of the primate family. We share about 98% of dna with chimpansees and our chromosome pair number 2 is a fusion between two ancestrial chromosomes, wich can be found separated in other primates.

    2. God is not factored into science. We have an adbundance of skeletons that show our transformation from ape to man. You should give Genesis a ALLEGHORICAL meaning not LITERAL. Only then will you escape science.

  • @MPWorthMcEwan Yeah, the anti-evo Christians make you lose credibility. Makes you look like you're all scientifically illiterate, so I appreciate you taking the time to point them out to their mistakes.

  • @abeeftec The only holes that are obvious here are the ones in your head, where there should be little bits of brains here and there, but where have they gone? Nobody knows...

I bet you don't even know the meaning of evolution.

So you want to read a little bit about evolution? Knock yourself the fuck out. Google is your friend. Sadly youtube doesn't allow link posting.

  • @abeeftec Wooahh hey man, I don't want to try to have this convo over Youtube comments. :)

Trust me, I used to be a hard core young-earth Creationist. I even used to run a website that "proved" evolution false. But once I looked at the evidence for myself, I had to change my tune. So, with respect, I've probably heard many of the arguments you're going to give me.

What do you think about having that Skype convo sometime? Should I send you a private message with my info?

  • @MPWorthMcEwan I would need to download it. I wonder if those old headphones they sent out in the mail long ago when skype first came out still work? I have them still in the package.

Message me for sure, I like that you are going ot seminary. I went years ago! Good times in my life then. I dont have a skype so if you can just send your skype to my messages and I will make an account and add you as soon as I get the message.

My friend wanted me to make an account anyway

  • @WolfySnackrib666 LOL! That wouldnt do anything but make us stronger!

In fact, Every time I hear about evolution without someone being able to point me in the direction of a paper that maps it out from Beginning to end I realize more and more that all evolution is is a dumping ground for all possible evidences to some day be put together if such a thing were possible.

There are just too many holes in it that will never be rectified.
