Now with the new models...such as Boeing's "dreamliner" ... they may be more resistant to interference..but I dont know exactly.

Your opinion is obviously based on just your desire for convenience...surprisingly they do interfere.....Now having just one phone on may not bring the plane down, but in aggregate with everyone's phone turned on, they will affect various guidance and nav systems on a plane...which will essentially "blind" the pilots who may be trying to land in bad weather...
Theres obviously a lot you dont know about planes and their electrical systems.

You must turn off your cell phones and turn off electrinic devices it interrferes with the radio frequency inflight okay respect the laws okay
